Over all the story is strong, but the middle got very slow for me and I, who have a very hard time abandoning books, nearly did. Glad I stuck with it, but not strong enough for my classroom. Great book for the right kids. The story of two high school boys’ friendship.

Great ideas, but not a strong resource.
Aristotle and Dante was one of my great reads this year. I enjoyed Saenz' writing so much that I also picked up his "Last Night I Sang to the Monsters" - that one was a very powerful read.

DeleteYou have a terrific list here. I am intrigued by Cracked -- I will check that out, as it sounds like something my daughter and I would enjoy. I am also interested in Prisoner B-3087 and When Kids Can't Read.
